Because a web series is where all the big names are working.
And if this was going to be a movie we already have evidence that Jaden Smith's name doesn't do shyt to move the box office needle at all. So Jaden Smith isn't even really a big name either...he is the child of a big name.
And since when do we have Jaden Smith stans any way? And why would you stan Jaden Smith?

im not stanning jaden, i even said i was being sarcastic a few posts ago.

but i wasnt kidding about that list though, never heard of any of em, and when i googled, i never seen any of em either. no reason for some suits trying to make money to go with them over the son of a star who has already been in big films

Its no biggie. I watch a lot of bullshyt TV and movies so I am aware of tons of people who don't matter and most people have never heard of.
I do think a lot of the dudes in this thread are completely skipping over the fact that this is going to be a web series and not a movie or network TV show though.

Static has always been depicted as a dark skin brother. It's crazy how much dark skin/real blacks are being phased out.

No one said dark skin is the only "real" black, but dark skin characters should be played by dark skins and vice versa for light skins. The two shades can both be black while being cognizant of the fact they are different. Spawn is dark skin, Black Panther is dark skin and Static Shock is dark skin.

And Jaden can't act?? He isn't better then 90% of the other teenage actors in Hollyweird? His skills are median, because MOST of hollyweird can't act that good. Jaden is OK. He's no better then Andrew Garfield and he gets accolades. With a big budget and a respectable director, this movie will be fine.

They'll sleep on Jaden till the premiere where he'll shine
