In the book is the character gay?

Its pretty common knowledge that slave boys wore dresses until they became teens.

Nah, he's a boy who wears a potato sack and is confused for a girl by John Brown.

I really like the use of the word cross-dressing in the title, it's the sort of shyt websites like to play up in order to get page hits. Like hmm what word could I use that is sure to grab people's attention, even if it is completely inaccurate? So much illiteracy here.

WTF is up with all these slave movies coming out over the past couple of years?:mindblown:

They're going to keep coming, because it's trying to send a message that blacks are just subservient ******s, not to mention these movies make ridiculous profits. Best to support the few legit black films to try to counteract that.

12 years did, sure the main character was free, but most of the blacks remained slaves. :manny:

Seeing blacks as inferior is must easier to digest than blacks in equal positions or better. That's why films that show blacks as equals or outright fly are panned by critics or bomb(Boomerang; After Earth, Best Man Holiday, Malcolm X, etc). If you don't believe me, just research for yourself.
