This is why Jade is leavingIt's 2023, media rights money is worth significantly more than live gate money. It's an important source of revenue of course but hardly the main driver of revenue like it was back during the WCW era.
All that money they got from the All In gate, which was nearly 11 million, isn't even 20% of what their media rights deal is for one year..
That All In gate is likely going to end up being more than all their other PPVs for the last two years combined. And of course the typical weekly show makes far less money than a PPV does, and that was the case even when AEW was hot.
As far as saying it's Impact Zone level, Impact wishes they could get anywhere close to as many people as AEW did last week. Impact rarely ever even draws 1,000 people. The last two PPVs with attendance listed on Cagematch were both under 700.
Now ya'll can keep fooling yourselves and think everything is fine, but this right here is a horrible look for a major promotion. They don't have the longevity that the WWE has to be able to let this play out, Tony needs to make some big moves quick or else more people will be walking out the door. BTW: Live gates are still very important since every source of revenue pays for salaries and other things.
