It's funny because if she wouldve signed to WWE after her tryout in 2019 she probably wouldve been stashed in the PC until some point after the NXT 2.0 launch and would probably still be on NXT to this day probably not anywhere near as big of a deal as she is now. She made a good gamble by going to AEW and using that as her developmental in a sense, using that platform to raise her star power and desirability as one of AEW's few true homegrown stars. Now she's coming to WWE with a bigger contract and more hype than she probably would have gotten as an NXT call up to the main roster. Everything aligned perfectly for her :wow:

That’s the confusing part about all this. She volunteered the info about not signing back then because of the schedule taking her away from her daughter and having to move to Orlando.

If she never said that, no one would be surprised about the move.

Agree 100%.

I may joke on AEW despite frequently enjoying it and while still doubting it will ever be my favorite promotion, I really hope they stay in a strong position. It's existence provides so many more options for the wrasslers and that's a good thing.

That ship has sailed. Everything is down across the board for them, and a Mercedes signing isn't going to change things. At this point a complete reboot minus the us vs them mentality is their only hope.

I won't be convinced they aren't doing well enough unless/until they lose their WB deal.

When you're barely getting 2k people inside of a 15k arena it's a sign that you're not doing well. They're starting to resemble 2000 WCW and the crowd last week was impact zone level. I'm not saying they can't turn it around, but you'd have to be blind to not see how bad things are atm.

It's 2023, media rights money is worth significantly more than live gate money. It's an important source of revenue of course but hardly the main driver of revenue like it was back during the WCW era.

All that money they got from the All In gate, which was nearly 11 million, isn't even 20% of what their media rights deal is for one year..

That All In gate is likely going to end up being more than all their other PPVs for the last two years combined. And of course the typical weekly show makes far less money than a PPV does, and that was the case even when AEW was hot.

As far as saying it's Impact Zone level, Impact wishes they could get anywhere close to as many people as AEW did last week. Impact rarely ever even draws 1,000 people. The last two PPVs with attendance listed on Cagematch were both under 700.

I said well enough, as in well enough to keep paying people and keep the lights on with a national deal, which is where the real money comes from.

That's all they should worry about really

The fans are fickle, they come and go, especially when your up against a juggernaut that has never been knocked out of their spot
