Whenever I've heard him he gets outshined by Smoke DZA and shyt.Cool sentiment but does jaewon have any actual music out?
Cause all I've seen from him is freestyles, but can he put a project together?
Hopefully lyricism is the only thing he inherited from his old man
As for Jaewon, he means well. Many people who say this shyt mean well, but the people who say this sound like the people in the Coli who hate all the three point shots and want dudes to shoot more baseline fadeaways. Some shyt just ain't coming back in style. Also, Kendrick has the entire support of a coast. the next great NY rapper won't even have the whole city behind him. It doesn't help that some of the better curators are either dead, in jail, or completely out of touch.

The problem is you need someone who has an appreciation for music as well as substance, not just a love letter to 90’s/00’s NY hip hop. Good luck finding that.

The non-lyrical underground rappers like don't sound like NY either, It's just cloud/jerk/plug rap which is Atlanta/Cali.

It’s over for that. It’s a completely different era. You’d need someone who actually likes music and makes efforts to push NY rap forward, which is hard to do when there are sub genres like sexy drill and thot rap driving the culture.

Meh… Ny is Chilondocalanta and it’s over. NY created this shyt but what made and influenced that NY sound isn’t even NY anymore. It’s safe, gentrified, and cleaner, so it would be forced and unauthentic. Pro Era tried and did it well but it just didn’t have teeth.
