He said there were other songs that came out that were more of ripoffs than Princes and if you read through the context, he probably would’ve barely noticed. They were not the same fukking song, they only had chord changes and the same guitar tone (which prince was a fan of the guitar player and studied his style, which he admitted).

Basically, he got their blessing for the SIMILARITIES in their songs in different genres... he didn’t bootleg the fukking track. It wasn’t an “interpolation” of shyt, it was a different song with similar chords/instrument... which you can get sued for without permission to use the sample
