Sadly I'm a huge JID fan and I feel the same, it's a let down to me especially coming off his last album.

Finally someone who has an ear. Don't know how people are fronting on either one of those projects.

I can't get over this dude's voice. This isn't for me.

I can def understand. I came into his body of work blindly and all my ears seem to hear is Kendrick and I'm not the hugest Kendrick fan.

So I saw this album on Spotify while also seeing this thread so I was like let me check it out.

I thought DiCaprio pic on the cover was the pic of the rapper I turned on Slick Talk and this dude was saying nikka I was like

off first listen, its kinda light.. the track with 6lack was straight, and a few more stood out.. but, i dont know..

then again- i still think Para Tu is some of his best work..

Love the project but he does sound like Kendrick lite

he does need to tone down the Kendrick vocalisms....that's going to hurt him long term. He has a lot of talent but casuals are gonna hear the voice and just think Great Value Kendrick.

If I were his team, I would drop the album album in like April/May

This feels like a mixtape to me....not gonna be enough to get him into being a household name

He needs a cohesive good kid/maad city type album where there is a steady consistent sound and concept......Lil Wayne would be a good feature for him as well

Yeah. I just think that's how he talks/raps. It's not a huge deterrent for me and I dont see why it matters especially in THIS climate but
