Kept everything but Amari, most cohesive project he's dropped. Focused and concise. Cole's IYRTITL, in terms of statement mixtape Album. Not comparing artists, just projects.

Rap fans can be a funny bunch. The main criticisms Cole got was he was ‘boring’ because of his ‘concept album’ style, lack of features and outside production. He answers those critics by having outside production, features and no concept yet some people are saying it sounds more like a mixtape than an album :russ:.

Anyway I absolutely love this album. I’ve played it nonstop since it dropped and I’ve had to force myself at times to listen to something else. I haven’t played an album this much in a row since DAMN which is funny because this feels like his DAMN. DAMN was Kendrick answering critics that said he couldn’t make a mega selling pop album cause he’s too focused on storytelling. This album was Cole showing he can bring his ‘features’ level bars to an album.

I had it selling around 290-310k before the projections came out but I wouldn’t be surprised if it touches 400k.

Finally, can I just say it’s been great watching the GOAT’s of my generation (Cole, Drake & Kendrick) grow literally from the bottom to the pinnacle of the game. They are all certified legends and we should give them their flowers. Hopefully we get a song with all 3 of them one day. They are all about to make 2021 legendary with their albums.

It’s ok and I fukk with Cole. Lil Baby showed out.

I say ok because I just don’t find the content too interesting. This album feels forced like here’s this because I might not release shyt for a long while. Really enjoy the production and his attempt to adapt.

My life and pride is the devil are my favorites.

I appreciate the intro

I must be gettin old. I’m still in my 20s. I love hip hop to its core but the art of bein an emcee to the degree Cole and Kendrick do is no longer interesting in 2021 to me. It’s cool the GOAT lyricists have heirs but I really want more creative brehs in the mainstream bringin that innovative heat to the genre on the musical side like ye, pharrell, timbo did.

Keepin it hip hop and musically GREAT.

Right now R&B is doin a better job at that. I know not everything going to be a sample flip. I know these kids use a lot of already made loops and shyt. The current wave sounds too much the same. When you listen to Rodwave, Polo G, etc.

Tyler the Creator can’t be the last one doin that well. We need more.

How many losers in here only like 21 cause he’s rapping with Cole.

21 had one of the best albums of 2020

He had one of my favorite quest spots last year on Uzi shyt. Hes good for feature, an entire project is something I could never get into though.

My point was that there are multiple post in here trying to say Cole brought something out of 21 when 21 always kills it

People acting shocked that Lil Baby and 21 Savage sounded good over a beat
:ohhh:

Old Head Syndrome, don't forget, Cole executive produced Young Thug's last album and had him tour with him. He messes with these newer acts and it's not crazy to fukk with both lyricists and more melodic rappers.
