I don’t think it was friendship at all. They warned cole stay out of it cuz it’s gonna get dark and they gonna go all the way in with it. Cole did the smart thing and stayed out not wanting any of that smoke that will come out this battle. Cole was scared of what can come with this rap beef. Period…. He got warned.
Guarantee you no matter what Kendrick said about him he would've came out looking better than he look now :francis:

that’s my point, it wasn’t gonna be strictly rap. They warned him shyt could get ugly and spill outside of it so they told him fallback unless he’s prepared for other shyt. He chose wisely… Too bad this friendship narrative ain’t going according to plans… :francis:

@Ziggiy what if in a hypothetical situation Kendrick had a brother or brothers who could rap as good as Cole, Drake and Nas. What would Kendrick do in that situation? Would he destroy his brotherhood with all of his brothers in order to be number 1??

You mean blood brothers?

Blood siblings are different from some nikka you know on some rap shyt. Hell Ab-Soul is a GREAT rapper, maybe just as skilled as Kendrick when we break down raw rapping ability (Kendrick’s got the one up on storytelling) and their in the same crew. I don’t think Kendrick would ever go at Soul, Rock or Q no matter how big or successful they got because they all struggled to get on together.

I think Kendrick has a moral code and loyalty to those he came up with. I just don’t think that loyalty ever has or ever will extend to people like Cole or Drake. They’re competition. Cole has always been competition to Kendrick, and to Kendrick’s credit, he kept it 100% real on Control. The entire verse breaks down to “I like ya’ll. I acknowledge ya’ll’s skill. NONE of you are better than me so bow down”

The funny thing is that Cole and Drake took it to opposite ends of the spectrum. Drake cried about it like a bytch and Cole double downed on the ridiculous notion that he and Dot were besties. Cole should’ve known at that moment that they’re relationship was just rap and Drake should’ve taken the challenge seriously instead of acting like Kendrick owed him something.

There are too many examples throughout the years that point towards Kendrick being an artist thats first and foremost out for himself. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Hip Hop as always ALWAYS been built on a foundation of MC’s ultimately being out for themselves, thats the only way to be number 1. Kendrick ain’t supposed to care about being friends with one rapper whose entire identity the past half decade has been proclaiming he’s ready to take on any and every MC and another rapper who he’s been trading subs with for ten years, a rapper who doesn’t even write his own rhymes at the end of the day.

What's really funny is how you can tell the bytch nikkas like Cole are

Cole and KDot friendship? A supposedly friendship Cole ended because KDot said Fukk the Big 3, it's just Big Me

Did that warrant a full diss song? Of course not. That was a bar with a verse dedicated to Drake. Remember that dude MykeCTown on DEHH saying before Cole dissed KDot, why would he? That's not even a diss to him

Ask yourself why did Cole jump out the window on KDot over that and then you'll have your answer

There was 3 nikkas in this but only really 1 hoe ass nikka

Now if you can't get that, that tells me more about you :sas2:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I like Cole as an artist, but there's nothing he can say on the issue to help himself at this point imo

Dude say he don't want to lose a friend, and a couple lines later saying he don't want to resort to bots and paying to be in the algorithm to get the crown, implying (to me at least) thats what Kendrick did to win. Like bro just go inside smh.
He’s saying those was the games the labels was playing. I mean it’s the fukkin truth to anyone who isn’t a Stan of either artist.
