How is wendys better than 5 guys?

I don’t think either of them are special but five guys is superior.

The best burgers are at regular restaurants/bars. I find burger chains try too hard to be different wieniut focussing on the most important part. The patty.

I dont know if they changed it up but when I had Wendy's last year they it's like they used a brioche bun. I ordered Dave double. Looked like a premium Michelin star burger lol. And tastes heavenly

I'm a sucker for some brioche :mjlit:

I agree with OP.
Most burger places are overrated.
It's rare that I go to a burger chain and had a BAD burger. They're all fine. Most every family owned bar has good burgers too.

What I really find to be overrated are steakhouses. People just accept that a dinner at a steakhouse will run them $100-150 per person. Just the steaks alone will run you somewhere between $30-50. You go with your significant other, you're already at $100 before drinks/dessert/tip. I didn't even include appetizer.

I'm not saying to never go to a steakhouse, but there's this phony prestige and inflated cost about it that I don't like.
A la cart

They charge like 15 for a baked potatoe and another 15 for some basic asparagus

A pre-cooked burger can never taste like a made to order burger. They got that brioche bun everywhere now.
