Red Robins, Culver's, 5 guys, Portillo's and most resturant/bar burgers. Never had In and Out.

I had shake shack one time and that was all she wrote.:wow: Can't believe it took me this long to realize. My problem is most spots don't season their burgers and expect all them condiments to give it flavor. And some use low fat beef which means a dry patty.

I came to the realization that you can pan fry a burger at home with seasonings of choice, a basic slice of American cheese and a potato bun and this basic ass burger will taste a MILLION times better than ANY fast food burger...I don't care who it is.

Fast food burgers are bottom of the barrel. All of them.

I agree with OP.
Most burger places are overrated.
It's rare that I go to a burger chain and had a BAD burger. They're all fine. Most every family owned bar has good burgers too.

What I really find to be overrated are steakhouses. People just accept that a dinner at a steakhouse will run them $100-150 per person. Just the steaks alone will run you somewhere between $30-50. You go with your significant other, you're already at $100 before drinks/dessert/tip. I didn't even include appetizer.

I'm not saying to never go to a steakhouse, but there's this phony prestige and inflated cost about it that I don't like.
