Is this the same guy that refuses to get on the bus or was that someone else?

He wanted to charter a bus to the games that were close enough to drive to. Even if they let him, he'd still miss the majority of their road games and he'd be operating like a god damned circus clown. Dude is just :snoop:

He has OCD and anxiety disorder.. I kinda feel for dude.

Remember, you're looking at this situation logically. His mind isn't handling these situations he feels unsafe in logically. I bet he's trying really really hard to be "normal" but it's not that easy.

I don't understand why the fukk Rockets don't start treating him for what he is instead of basically saying "we can't have a different set of rules for someone on the team". Ridiculous considering he's suffering from a diagnosed condition. You would let your knee injured player run the same drills as your healthy players :childplease:

It's a mess. Royce himself is also to blame for lashing out on Twitter and not handling his business private BUT Rockets are also to blame because they still haven't asked his doctors "what does he need to be able to feel safe and be able to play?" and just give him that.

Somewhere you have to realize that all people aren't the same and can't function under the exact same conditions. This is a wake up call for the NBA too. Teams need awareness of this kinda stuff because I'd be willing to bet that Royce ain't the first one with these struggles that has been in the NBA and sadly, I believe that most of the other guys just disappeared from the league instead of being open about their situation like Royce and asking for help.

They got a doctor for him to try & help, he had issues with that too. The only blame to put on the Rockets is for being dumb enough to draft him when they did knowing his situation, You don't just give him what he wants when he won't try to work with you. Their telling him to go to the D-League & he is refusing. It's not like down there they're going to fly him all over the country to play. He could just play the home games there, but he refuses to try & work with the Rockets. I think he just wants to get everything his way & be part of the rotation, which isn't something that was going to happen this year.

If I was the owner of the Rockets I would just release him & see about an exception from the league on the contract. He isn't worth the hassle at this point.

The NBA shouldnt have to cater to a fukking maniac. If he has a condition, oh well, too bad, professional basketball isn't for him.
Its partly the rockets fault for picking this psycho but they can fix their mistake by cutting his fakkit ass.

Nigguh a con.

How did this kid show up to Las Vegas in the summertime and play several games, Without all of these so called mental health protocols in place??

Oh yeah . I know.

Summer league ended July 22. Signed his NBA contract July 26.

was it because he didn't have to travel while in Vegas?

He did the college basketball traveling because it was by bus, didn't he?

Rockets knew they were taking a gamble with him. I'm not defending him, but I want to know all of the details as to why he feels like the Rockets are being insensitive.

I know mental health is something that is probably mistreated or misunderstood in many cases, but what is it that this kid wants??

Thank god the rockets took him cause supposedly Danny ainge wanted white badly...

I hope the nba voids his contract and he gets no money.

He's a bytch. For his contract I'd walk to the games if I had to.

Straight up bytch.

Didn't the rockets give him permission to use a bus and got him one?

The fact that this kid has a legal leg to stand on is proof of the liberal pussification of this country. Ridiculous.

Rockets need to just take the L, tell him OK look, we'll pay you what we owe you as far as your contract is concerned, but you aren't going to play and after your contract expires you're obviously on your own. Good luck.

yep, Rockets just need to take the hit on that second year of the contract and cut him.

He's dead to the rest of the league already.

million dollar baby.

Rockets need to waive him and give him some oversized pampers. He's about to be blackballed around the league anyway.

Don't understand the cut him now mentality. Ya'll really don't think the Rockets expected no bumps in the road with this kid? It's two months into his rookie season. A season in which he's not going to play anyway. Why cut him now? Morey is on record as saying he was aware that White had problems initially everywhere he's been.

I'm far from on his side and generally have no idea what he's talking about when he goes on these rants but maybe, just maybe, he has a sliver of a point. None of us really know what was said between both parties. The older I get the more I see the harm in making knee jerk, emotional decisions. Most of the people that I've looked up to tend to be conservative about their moves. This is chess not checkers and I don't see the harm in letting this play out some more. He didn't say he'll never play in the D-league period end of story. "Keep your powder dry, don't let your money get mad"

And as for what the Rockets should have done, why not swing for the fences with one of 3 picks? Morey already had his trade bait and had another pick coming up. Instead of taking a potentially solid role player he rolled the dice on a guy who was regarded as one of the top talents. People complain(ed) Morey can't bring in a star and turn around and complain when he tries to draft one.

Im pretty sure that by refusing to report or play there is some way the rockets can claim he violated that contract and not have to pay. Contracts do go both ways even if they are guaranteed. I would think that what he is doing is cause for voiding the contract.

There's literally one team that I know that if he went there, all of a sudden his anxiety issues would magically go away and he'd go back to wanting to play, and that's his hometown.

I don't know....he went to his hometown college and acted a fool while he was here. Never ended up setting foot on the court and was kicked off the team.
