even after Jones got booted, the clear main event was Brock/Hunt

They've always advertised the main event as 5 rounds and when they first switched it to Brock/Hunt while saying it was a 3 rounder, I think they just had spur of the moment second thoughts (Dana probably stressed out of his mind and overthinking things) and decided to have a 5 round fight at the end and since Aldo/Edgar was for an Interim Title, they went with the one with an Official Title.

There hasn't even been a single fighter who started training in MMA from the start - they all come from a different discipline/sport. It will take about 20 years before it becomes a science like boxing.
