The vic vaughn shyts was trash....never liked those albums...dope concept/persona tho (I dunno if he would say this now but he admitted the 2nd vic vaughn album was just for the money in an old interview and it shows...)
:mindblown:

Breh...he shytted on the album on the album

The very first bars on the very first song

"Dub it off your man, don't spend that ten bucks
I did it for the advance, the back end sucks"

he takes numerous shots on various songs

"Can't stand the beat, there's no sense bytching"

"Would've flipped it longer but the beat was rather rinky dink"

Don't listen to him, always thought he was CAC "street" rap

Operation Doomsday is a low key super negroidian, broke, jailbird, alcoholic, bottomed out, hit the skids album. That's why I love it so much. It's one of the last great NYC records. You should play it. He samples all the records your folks like and rhymes crazily.

The CAC tag is more a result of madvillain.

I used to feel like this for years. White folks LOVE Doom.

Then I listened to his other projects besides Madvillain and found out he's one of the most pro-black rappers ever, he straight up shyts on white people all the time and almost always from a oppresive stance. Its as if the whole Doom, villain, persona is intended just towards them.

No idea why white people love him :heh:

This. This. And more this.

There is no greater disconnect between intended audiences, ever. It's the irony that rap became.

Doom been cashing them checks though. No man is infallible.

Don't know if brehs were up on this - it's MF Grimm's autobiography/graphic novel

mfgrimmmb9.gif

A bunch of amazing stories about 80's-90's hip-hop including him and DOOM working on Operation Doomsday. Well worth a read.
