I recall walking around Hall St. in my neighborhood and Myrtle Ave and seeing swathes of illegal immigrants panhandling and sitting around doing nothing.

I agree other than the crime thing because that has been trending down.

Also want to note maybe people leaving NYC in the first place and transplants moving in has something to do with a shift in numbers as well.
