I know it’s moot now, cuz they converted, but can someone explain why it made sense for Clemson to go for 2 up 27-23?
Ohio State needed a TD regardless. If they got that TD, a subsequent FG for Clemson would win it whether they got the 2 or the extra point. If they failed on the 2, a FG just ties it and they have to go to OT.
Seems like an unnecessary risk, what am I missing here?
After Clemson converted on the two point conversion, if OSU scores a TD and misses the PAT, the game will be tied.
