Here comes Kirk
Im a Tony Snell stan
but seriously, I think Thibs stunted Tony's growth. I do think he has all the tools to be a successful starter in this league. Thibs gave him no consistent role on the team, yanked his minutes around on the regular, would pull him for the slightest mistake, didnt enable him to have ANY freedom offensively and in turn ruined the kids confidence
Fred Hoiberg has done more for Snell's psyche in two months than Thibs did in two years
He has him playing confident, and with an edge we havent seen from him yet
Thibs did no such thing. You can't place the onus on Thibs to keep on developing players and not put the majority of the blame on the FO to not give him proper pieces. How many coaches in the league are expected to keep developing players? Thibs did what he felt best in trying to have this team competing for a title. He can't afford to spend time giving minutes to players with limited talent consistent minutes to prove their worth on a team vying for title contention. He couldn't give him offensive freedom because he clearly wasn't ready for any form of "freedom" last season.Im a Tony Snell stan

Snell clearly wasn't ready. We'll see what happens after a generous amount of games and Dunleavy comes back. Are yall still going to be praising Hoiberg for how he's playing Snell, if he benches him when he gets into a hole or/and when Dunleavy comes back?Fred Hoiberg has done more for Snell's psyche in two months than Thibs did in two years
I don't see much difference in his confidence from when he had a bulk of minutes last season. He has him playing confident, and with an edge we havent seen from him yet
