Lack of switching? nikka you ain't watch the game then. Better use that league pass cause last night they was switching like a mother fukker. The rest I can roll withI think it's several things going on.
1) Rose doesn't have his legs yet and is playing lazy on defense
2) Lack of switching defensively leading to penetration
3) Pau cannot help defend and Jo can't score
4) Jo has a tendency to pass to the opposing team
5) New offensive/defensive systems take time to learn. Probably will take 15-20ish games before we see any consistency.
As it stands now, this team is just soft in the paint and that will be our achilles heal unless Noah can become dominant again (not getting my hopes up).
I'm just thanking white jesus that we lucked out with PortisWe can take comfort in knowing the next starting center is right there on our bench.
I'm just disappointed in the defense most of all. I would at least thought they would retain most of Thibs schemes and philosophies. But they are doing what other lazy teams are doing with the switching. How many times are we going to leave Niko on an island with Jackson? I know we want more offense, but niko/pau doesn't work. Pau is still slow footed and food in the pick and Niko doesn't have the awareness to cover mistakes. Orl is on fire right now. They are getting out in transition with those athletes and Vucci was cooking us last year. It may be another bad night if we are careless on offense like yesterday

I don't know breh, I saw both of Orlando's games and they look like a tough team. We can easily lose that game if Rose/Jimmy ain't playing right

Well that's what I'm banking on, us being at home and rose and jimmy playing much better.

So based on that ..the new starting line up , new rotations ...new offense scheme ..players getting used to new roles ( plus fact rose/dunleavy missed whole pre season safe for a game or so )
I will reserve judgment for a while there is to many intangibles at play here
Hoiberg ain't gonna wave a magic wand and make everything right . he is learning about these guys as well. .
