This is what HBO does when it's time for negotiations. My brother is a software engineer at comcast but at the time he was a Customer Rep. When they were in negotiations for a new contract, HBO wouldn't buckle. They took their content and people actually led a semi-protest against Comcast eventually causing them to break.

How does a company that's been around as long as AT&T not know that eventually quality is going to decline when the emphasis is placed on quantity. Sure, just like with Netflix, there will still be some quality stuff, but the average quality of what they are putting out has declined significantly in recent years.

Cannibalize isn’t quite the right word but what they will do is damage HBO as a brand to be trusted for quality and ruin what they have carefully built for decades.

You can’t take a studio who’s famous for slow cooking content and quality over quantity and then try hit the gas at 200 MPH. It won’t work.

You should check out Barry. You can even read the thread on here universal praise from the Coli and pretty much everywhere else. Its only 8 episodes 30 minutes each so it’s a quick watch. It takes like 2-3 episodes to get going but the last like 3 episodes are hands down some of the best tv I’ve seen in the last couple years. Some people weren’t feeling the first couple episodes but once it gets going it was undeniable
