@Remote i think it’s time we revisit our conversation about this offense
It’s baffling to me. But I’ll take another look later.

Let’s keep in mind here …they were hitting against a rookie pitcher in his 1st ever start, I believe.

So I think at this point the Rangers have done so well that they're looking at the AL Wild Card or possibly the AL West crown. Houston has an easier schedule the rest of the way but it's too close to call.

Given that Texas has won this many games without deGrom (who...make no mistake...IS the best pitcher in baseball when healthy) shows how impressive they've been. And deGrom should only boost that when he returns.

I didn't anticipate Jonah Heim taking this leap this year. I'm not sure how real it is. While he is making hard contact, you'd think he would strike out more given that he's prone to reaching for balls out of the strike zone. But he's putting the bat on the ball.

Josh Jung has to come back to earth eventually. Nobody with a 28% K rate can remain this successful forever. Right?
...right?

Marcus Semien has bounced back from a terrible 2022. Though I don't think he's the same 2021 Semien, as far as 2nd basemen go, he's good. And his stolen base ability keeps him valuable.

Nate Lowe is a solid player. There's not much to say about him. He makes good contact. He walks a good amount. Not a superstar but he's reliable and above average. Maybe a tiny bit prone to the double play ball here and there because he doesn't elevate a ton. But honestly that's nitpicking. He gets his line drives.

All in all, I think the offense will mostly continue to produce. The question is that you've got 3-4 guys in the rotation who've had issues staying on the field.
So deGrom, Heaney, Gray...they all need to avoid major injuries.

Heaney has hit 180 innings just once in his career - in 2018.
Jon Gray's career high is 172 innings and last year touched just 64.
Eovaldi threw just 109 last season.
And deGrom is...well...enough said.

These are all veteran guys though. So perhaps their experience gives them a longer leash than a 26 year old kid would get as he's building his strength.

All of this to say...cheers. Your team is doing well. I didn't see it coming, honestly. I thought the Angels would be the sleeper team out West.

Another thing is between Duran, Taveras and jankowski - you’ve had .300 hitters batting 8 and 9 for a good portion of the season too.

For a good as a start we’re off to, Houston being there is concerning but only our bullpen worries me - easily could have the best record in baseball if not for that group

Edit: and a run deferential of like +150 and must run per game, around 7
