I've literally heard this trade being called the "Herschel Walker trade" for the NBA. I'm just using the criteria people already set up, I don't give a damn if either team wins a chip either way, BUT you need tangible results, you can't just live off "well we made the greatest trade in NBA history!!!". Especially when we have examples of crucial pieces that got traded to a team that put them over the top to win a championship.

The trade is the trade. If the return for player A is greater than the return for player B, that team won the trade Anything extra from that point is a completely separate conversation.
If OKC never gets to a Finals or never wins a ring, that’s a SEPERATE conversation to lay blame to SGA as a player, the coach, Chet, etc. But they still will have already won the trade. Obviously
