It's crazy how closely Kendrick & Drake is mirroring Jay-Z & Nas

It's a dope album, only reason stans label it a classic is due to the beef and it containing one of the best diss songs of all times.
Just cause Jay dropped a real classic, Stillmatic could've been ass and stans would still call it classic due to the beef. It was the first time I saw people disrespect the word classic in hiphop.

Nah bruh that shyt was a legit classic and better then the blueprint btw

lol spare me the "you're young" bullshyt. Jay-Z's music is stale at this point. Same goes for Nas even if Life is Good was a good album. His shyt from 2002-2012 what was ZZZZZs. He's good and will always be good at rapping, but if we're talking MUSIC, the sounds of his albums isn't interesting at all. Just a mish-mash of songs, a lot of which have mediocre beats because his ear for beats is pretty iffy. I loved Hip Hop is Dead when it came out, but I'm not gonna front and act like half of that album isn't throwaway filler. Cringe shyt like Carry on Tradition lol.

And I'm not even a Kendrick stan. I haven't fully listened to Section 80 or listened to his shyt before then. I just recognize artistry when I see it. He actually makes music that really pushes and tries to do new shyt. You think Nas and Jay-Z would make a song like ADHD or "I"? Lol no, they stay safe with their 3 verse, 3 chorus song structure. The biggest rappers making the most interesting music in Hip Hop right now are Kanye, Kendrick, Killer Mike/El P and Drake. Jay-Z and Nas just rehashing their old shyt.

Nah I'd say Jay and Nas have found some subject matters to evolve with while still knowing what people like from them. Its why they still have success when they drop albums of a critical and commerical ilk

You bringing up Nas and Jay-Z's new shyt is irrelevant. I know their new shyt is weak.

You said: "Real talk I think both Drake and Kendrick are more creative and musically talented than Jay and Nas." If you had added "today" at the end of your sentence, I wouldn't have said shyt. Even though I disagree, I can't cosign Nas and Jay-Z's recent work. They've been weak for a decade.

ADHD and I are total garbage on their own. And when you compare it to Nas and Jay-Z's best work, it's beyond insulting. If someone brought ADHD to me and said it was as good as NY State of Mind, I would say GTFOH. That song isn't even as good as Nas's filler tracks scattered across numerous albums.

But honestly, you're just biased to what you're hearing now because you're young. Kendrick brings NOTHING NEW to the table. His topics about hood life in Compton? BEEN DONE. His flow and overall approach to music? BEEN DONE. He's not doing anything Andre 3000 hasn't already done. In fact, Kendrick's whole steez is Andre 3000 reheated. Just way worse.

You think it's new because your understanding of context in hip hop is limited. That's why we say 'you're young'.

Staying power? Breh, Take Care has more staying power than any album released in the 2010's. I equate staying power with replay value. How is replay value subjective when I'm looking at it in the grand scheme of things and in the eyes of most people. Just the other day I'm going through my SnapChat and one of my homies put up a video of him and his homies bent in a room rapping along to Under Ground Kings.

I disagree I think he already peaked at Take Care, the album is classic top to bottom. Shot For Me, Over My Dead Body, Crew Love, Lord Knows, Marvin's Room, The Ride, The Real Her, Under Ground Kings, HYFR, The Motto, etc. I don't know how much more good music you want on the album.

The album gets burn years after, has classic songs, received critical acclaim from many publications, started movements yet it's just a regular album not classic.

that album is not a classic bruh half of them dongs u named are trash

I disagree Marvins room is straight ass cheeks, so is the motto, and take a shot for me
Disagree. Take Care has some great songs. (The Ride, Crew Love, Marvins Room, Take Care, Look What You've Done, Lord Knows) but also has some forced radio duds that haven't aged well,(Make Me Proud, Headlines) and everything else is either average or good, predictable.

Take Care is a 7.5 out of 10 album.

By the way people are really underestimating Kendrick's mainstream popularity
No, people are underestimatimg the respect. Everyone knows he's great. People don't even come at him because they respect him as an MC. and as an artist.

People diss drake, often like hes a 2 dollar hoe. No one recognizes that he makes great or classic music. They recognize his impact and that he's wildly popular

I guess that means soon OVO's gonna sign their Kanye West and revitalize Drake's career. Wouldn't be for a while though, since Drake's still got plenty of steam. But I think if anything, Views From The 6 could be Drake's Blueprint. Especially since he's been claiming Toronto heavy as of late.
he did with Makonnen. and before you get wit the jokes.....him and them lil weirdos from ATL got some heat.

Except Nas was organic. The machine only got behind him so much, the rest was the movement.

Kendrick is organic to a point, but he's so clearly the corporate version of Nas, that it's not even funny. They're trying to push him as this homegrown prophet. This "pro-black, I'm your rapper's favorite rapper" scheme is so obviously Jimmy Iovine's plan. It's obviously because he doesn't have the ability to make hit singles. They're behind him though so it'll work.

Drake doesn't have Jay-Z's skills, but he does have some skills and his hook game may be unparallelled for any era.

So it's not a 100% accurate analogy, but it does have merit.
