It's crazy how Bryan Cranston's career really TOOK OFF after Breaking Bad.

exactly. Tony shaloub won a million awards for monk and got so much acclaim all that did was keep him as a working actor. I love that Bryan Cranston embraced the love he got from the show and the success he's getting instead of being like I'm more than Heisenberg !! Don't ask me about breaking bad etc

During season 5 he was flat out telling people "when I die it'll say 'Breaking Bad star dies'" because it was obviously the peak of his career. If you embrace something like that it makes all the difference in the world.

As far as him being an A-list actor, he's not, but he's not trying to be. By his own admission he could've retired after "Malcolm In The Middle". I don't know what kind of deal he had but he was set for life. AMC didn't pay him shyt for "Breaking Bad", he took the job because, well, it's "Breaking Bad". Most actors would kill for a role like that. Since then he basically acts when he wants, where he wants, and being a super star or making a gang of money is a distant second.

I love Brian Cranston, and think he's a legitimately great actor... but how many good movies has he even been in? He's not exactly burning up the box office.

He already said before due to BB he's set money wise. He acts now because he genuinely loves his job. If that's not a reason to live what is?
