If a nikka got all those qualifications why the fukk I'm gonna want an "ENTRY" level anything unless it's management.

That's why I can't get mad at people that milk the system, commit fraud and all types of white collar fukkery. The game is rigged.

In 10 years, I swear ya'll might see me on an episode of American Greed:jawalrus:

How fukking stupid is that? You need a job to gain experience, but you need experience to get a job. You need money to go to school, but the purpose of school is to make money. Man life is a paradox. But as far as the declining job market someone was talking to me the other day and what he said was really profound. He said his boss took him outside one day after work, and pointed to this house on a hill. His boss then said, "Hey Rick. Do you see that big house up there all the way at the top of that hill? Someday, if you work extremely hard, follow all my orders, and show up every day on time, that house that you see up there will be all mine." You have to take the wheel sometimes.

On a more serious note, though.

Some companies SAY this, but don't mean it. It's only to weed out those who really have doubts about the position.

I'm not saying it always works, but it definitely applies, sometimes.

My younger brother is the king of no experience / no certificates, and the lil nikka is working a 40k job as a system admin @ 20 years old. He's getting underpaid, for the job, I believe. BUT, he got the job because he just randomly applied. And this is gonna look good for him, experience wise, later down the road.

The job he had, before this was 2 years as a Tech support...........at Staples.

That lil nikka amazes me sometimes. :jawalrus:

That's why you have to embellish/lie on your resume. As long as you can back it up, you're straight. So structure your resume to show that you had more responsibility/did more shyt than you did at your previous job(s).

Also, as someone said...companies list a whole bunch of shyt they say they want but are cool with someone who has like 75% of that list...or the key attributes. Even if you don't have the experience, apply anyways.

A lot of times "entry level" means the pay level and your responsibility in the company. Meaning this is a position for someone who will be at the bottom level in the organization, not necessarily looking for someone with no experience.

Honestly, I think a lot of job postings are bogus, and job sites like careerbuilder simply get peoples info to build a database and make money off of it. When I worked at AT&T ALL of the good paying positions were filled internally.

Some companies have weird rules where if a job isn't filled internally in a certain amount of time then they have to post it outside the company. They will just post the job then continue their search internally. You will literally see the same job posted over and over and over on monster.com but they have no intention of hiring someone from outside the company.

Its done like that to weed out people and also to get grade A talent and pay them C level money and not have to ever provide proper training.

yes i'd have to say the overall feel of things is experience>education. i think they just say they want grads for statistical purposes.

i knew one company whose job could be done by anyone but they only accepted grads to boast to their clients all the workers had 4 year degrees. i guess it makes the clients feel safer.
