wish this show just got its own channel in the 990s where it just went on forever and ever. it might actually be harder to break away from this when it goes off the air. with most shows, it's about a story and a denouement and closure and all that. with this one, there's nothing to look forward to. so if you like it, there's no huge payoff to salve the wound of it leaving.

plus you know once it's over you're never gonna watch it again, no matter how much you like it. just one of those shows.

great post, thats exactly how i efel about it

been catching up with the last two seasons and i forgot exactly how deep it was. mightve been a year since i saw season 1 and right after the first 30 minutes of season 2 all of season 1 came flooding back to memory. it ingrains itself in you that easily.

is it entertainment? i'd say its not entertainment in the common sense. is it entertaining? yes and no. there's no fukkery, no fake plot points, no explosions. and somehow this is realer and better than those other shows. you dont need to suspend disbelief, its just there.

no doubt i'm never gonna re-watch the show, just not how it happens.

you're just 'there' living along with them. and just like sometimes you stop to look at the sky and just wonder, these unnecessarily long scenes with all the music yo have no idea about, you appreciate them nonetheless. cause you know exactly what you got yourself into and what to expect. you expect to indulge in the small things with this show.

funny thing is i havent seen the wire, and if treme is being seen as way inferior, i'm excited for whats in store. cause friday night lights got me thinking that way about certain actors too 'thats riggins, thats landry' etc , and i see people do it on a way bigger scale with all the wire actors

I finally got around to finishing this just now...

I don't even know why I still watch this but it's mildly entertaining.
