The sh! still doesnt make sense to me though. This is Pat Riley we're talking about here. The "i'll give you my first born and both my testicles for a Center" Riley. I cant see him going into the season without a legit big. he must have something up his sleeve :myman:
Nah, I'm starting to think that's old Riley

Realistically only Pittman can provide some post scoring from the center spot on this team...so he'll stick around at least this year.

But they're really pushing this "positionless" stuff...wouldn't be surprised to see Shard start next to Bosh like one of the beat writers mentioned, but that might be til playoffs imo

edit-

Ira Winderman

For all the talk of Dexter Pittman being in jeopardy, one Heat player told me Pittman looks as fit as he has been. The teammate said if Pittman doesn't stick, it won't be because of lack of effort with his conditioning.

It's crazy how quickly a transformation like that can happen but a dude like Curry can be fat for a decade

At this point, it's either poor genetics or lack of motivation.

Summer league just got even better. I can't wait to see what Pitt can do now. Even with Pitts transformation, I still want Jorts on the final roster, mainly for his rebounding ability. That way we can have Joel, Jorts, and Pitt at the center position.

Spo need to go head and give this dude a chance RIGHT from the start of the season.

I hate how he only got garbage minutes last year..thats not how you develop players. Same with Cole..let that dude play and make mistakes.

Cant wait for the new season, its been way too long.

In my opinion, it was his lateral quickness. It might not be entirely his fault though. In the Heat's defensive scheme, players are chased off the three point line and funneled to the center/shot blocker to take a contested shot or get blocked.

The problem with Pitt is that he was too slow on the rotations and would foul instead of contesting the shot. Shaq had the same problem the year after the championship. That is also the reason why Joel has been on the roster for so long. He is quick enough to make the rotations and alter the shot without fouling (much).

Losing the weight should help with his quickness. He also had a problem staying focused, which should improve with playing time and maturity.
