There actually might be 3 spots available according to this:

Heat Disappointed In Dexter Pittman
Sep 16, 2012 9:09 PM EDT

Miami was disappointed in the summer league play of Dexter Pittman, who has one guaranteed year left on his contract.

Pittman has been assured nothing, in terms of playing time or even a roster spot, according to a team official.

I never really buy unnamed sources but it wouldn't surprise me if he was let go in favor of a more mobile big, that can stay out of foul trouble.

Miami Heat turn to Oguchi

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

by George Akpayen 17 September 2012, 15:18

NBA team, Miami Heat have showed a second interest in adding Nigerian small forward, Chamberlain Oguchi to their 15-man roster.

Oguchi has already worked out with Heat in early September.

The guard also worked out at San Antonio Spurs in the wake of reports linking him to several NBA teams after an impressive show at the summer Olympics in London with Nigeria's D'Tigers.

“Took my talents to South Beach and had a great showing. Coach Spo and staff are amazing. Now time to take my talents to San Antonio,“ Oguchi recently wrote on his Twitter page.

The Nigerian is now close to earning a non-guaranteed deal from the Heat barring any hitch.

But Oguchi will face the duo of Garrett Temple and Terrel Harris for a roster spot in the rotation for the guard and small forward positions, if he eventually earns the non-guaranteed deal.

The Champ, as he is fondly called, has played college basketball in Oregon and Illinois, as remained an undrafted player.

But he went to play in the D-League with Maine Red Claws, in France with STB Le Havre, in the Philippines with Meraico Bolts, in Lebanon with Hoops Club as well as for Venezuela’s Panteras de Miranda.

I guess Joel Anthony will do when we need a big body. Bosh can only hold it down for so long at Center.

Our power rotation
  • Bosh
  • Haslem
  • Anthony
  • ~Lebron
  • ~Lewis

I dont see those rookie PFs making the 15 man roster.

I like the Jorts pickup. Very underrated signing. He can rebound and he's gonna force a 4 or 5 to come out to 3 point land to guard him opening up the middle for Superman and Batman.

I see what they're trying to do. :obama:

you right, jorts fits pretty naturally into the current system. Spread the floor with shooter let wade and bron penetrate kick it out to bosh, chalmers, ray, rashard, miller, jones, jorts for a wide open j. :scusthov:

thats alot of shooters. teams without good perimeter defense are gonna be like :dead:

The sh! still doesnt make sense to me though. This is Pat Riley we're talking about here. The "i'll give you my first born and both my testicles for a Center" Riley. I cant see him going into the season without a legit big. he must have something up his sleeve :myman:
