I like how everyone on the roster is so versatile and can play multiple positions but I still hope we manage to get at least one more serviceable big man before the season starts.

Me too but there really is no one left at the center position.

I scrolled through hoopshype's free agent center HoopsHype - NBA Free Agent Rankings to see who is left, and the best names I saw were Mikael Gladness and Darko.

We are just going to have to rely on Pittman and hope he plays smart enough to stay out of foul trouble. Or at least spread out his fouls throughout the whole game. I would like them to get a true center but I'm not particularly concerned since we did get by with Battier guarding opposing centers.

They should take a chance on Andray Blatche low risk, high reward. 2 roster spots open, one probably going to Terrell Harris.

My only concern with playing LeBron at the 4 all season is it will be too much wear and tear on him. Doing it in the playoffs and occasionally during the season is fine. But playing the 4, rebounding, boxing out, playing defense, and being the primary ball handler is allot over 82 games.

Only thing dat matters is da playoffs. Bron's smart, i dont think he'll let himself get worn out like dat before the "real" games begin.

The new Lakers dont quite scare me much at all.

Only way they succeed is if Kobe gives up the rock and lets Nash run the offense through Dwight.

What are the odds?

nah, reg season squad gonna be similar to last year. Joel probably starting @ c or Pittman

same minutes too. Nothing matters til playoffs.

Bron/Bosh around 35 mins, Wade 32-35 during reg season

Id like to see this:

wade
allen
battier
bron
bosh

what defense in the league can guard that? :bryan:

Battier has to be in the game. He can guard 4's and give Bron a break and spread the floor. Honestly, in some cases, even Mario might need to be in there over Ray, depending on the matchup, because Ray may be a liability at times on that end.

Riley has been quite clear on this.....He feels Bosh is the Center they traded for and that Bron is a 4.

Im still not clear on why so many heat fans constantly think they are looking for a legit 5. They don't need it.

"MIAMI — On a roster that has only Joel Anthony and Dexter Pittman under contract at center, Miami Heat President Pat Riley has reiterated that he sees no need to aggressively pursue a veteran in free agency.

"We definitely are going to continue to look for somebody in that spot, but unless there's an injury, we really don't need a center," Riley said during an appearance on WQAM."

The thing is, Heat fans concern's about stopping Dwight are going to be overdone all year, but in reality, nobody stops him from getting his numbers anyway. It's why I was so annoyed about the narrative that the heat can't stop elite PG's, even though nobody in the world does anyway.

Face it, the Howard/Nash pick-and-roll will be unstoppable. Miami has no answer for it and nobody will. Nash is a betetr shooter than Rondo and will make due with those looks, and Dwight is even more formidable than Garnett as a roller in that set.

It goes both ways. Nobody in the world can stop LeBron and Dwyane (healthy) in Miami's small lineup either. It's going to be two juggernauts going at it.
