he will be 34 when his player option year is done. fukk that ...he should be happy taking damn near a vets minimum / udonis haslem role at that point if he wants to stay. i appreciate the couple of games he stepped up in the finals and dont want to sound ungrateful or disrespectful but we have seen that his body us breaking down.

they need to start succession planning from now

and depending on what we see from Klay in the next two years, the same could be said for him as well

Curry
Poole
Wiggins
Kuminga
Wiseman (if he improves)

should realistically be the starting line up in 2024, with Poole being the highest usage player on the team unless (Curry gets on his Lebron shyt :wow:)

Moody
Klay
Looney
Dray

Maybe im overly optimistic though. a lot can happen in two years lol

I agree completely. Draymond taking on a max contract (that he doesnt deserve tbh) with Poole and Wiggins also looking to get paid is crazy. If the CBA doesnt address the luxury tax, Poole and/or wiggins WILL walk. Lacob's not willing to pay GP2 because of the tax. He's not gonna max anyone else.

Looney just took a VERY team-friendly deal, Draymond needs to as well, especially since he was shaky every round in the playoffs after Denver. Maybe not to the degree that Looney did, but damn sure not anywhere near a max contract. He's not a max player.

If Steph gets injured, he's gonna look exactly how he did in 202: uninterested, quitting every few games

No way in hell. My main concern would be that he already doesn't take care of his body. If he was a workout fiend and always in the best shape I'd have more hope for him aging well and willing to take the risk. When he's in top shape he's a monster, but as is now he's too inconsistent to be giving a four year max too.

he's come into camp out of shape multiple times

What's funny is pretty much ZERO fans think he's worth the max

Meh im fine letting draymond walk if it comes
To that

I may be an idiot though
Keeping Draymond at the expense of losing Wiggins or Poole would be a disastrous decision

Draymond's got 1-2 seasons left as a viable starter on a championship caliber team

what you said is why i say let him walk. if he exercises his player option we have him for two years...if not, 1 year. Extending him to 2027 at $25M+ a year would be asinine

if he doesnt exercise his player option, you have to let him walk and fetch more outside.

I think Looney took the best deal available tbh, the Athletic pod boys said there were no big offers out there for him, his value as a big is unique to the Warriors
