Alot of the food we know as Italian was peasant food; cheap and filling. Im not American so can't speak for what u have there but Italian food is bomb.

Italians in America actually were the ones that added meat to their dishes. Original pizza is the Margarita. Tomato basil and cheese. Chicken parmesan is actually an American dish.

breh they sale risotto in those little frozen meal bowls in walmart, its not an obscure dish either. no one mentioned it because its not worth mentioning. just cuz you put a claw on the rice dont make it better.
