Summer of 96 was so beautiful. Rode in the car with my cousin when he first bought the album and bumped it on the way to see Independence Day

20 years later he's homeless or dead somewhere, Independence Day 2 was a disaster, and hiphop is a disgrace

Take It In Blood

My favorite NAS album. Was a little too young when Illmatic dropped but I was the perfect age for this one and got to experience it. The Street Dreams "Casino" themed video Mafioso/Shiny Suit era Nas
always thought this was a better album than Illmatic but I don't want to get into that argument here. I'm biased because like I said I was too young for Illmatic, like 11 or 12 when it dropped. You can tell this was Nas' glo-up album. A lotta people were at his "new sound" at the time compared to Illmatic but to a non-purist general fan like me I was like

But yeah this album confirmed the suspicions I had about nas on Illmatic i.e. He's not human. The shyt he was saying on this album way just

Take It In Blood is a top 5 Nas song for me.

Yeah illmatic had me thinking nas was top tier but after it was written I knew he was potentially on his way to being king of new york
