On the real side, this thread title is trash. This is exactly why Hal and Brian do the shyt that they do. Signing Soto is the bare minimum, but that's all its gonna take apparently to satisfy the fanbase.

is there more to be done? Yes.

Are there holes on this team that can solved internally? Absolutely. The organization just has to stop hating their system.

If the Yankees being back Soto, now Spencer Jones IS a trade chip to get another starter. What the Yankees can't do is wind up doing another half measure where the minor leaguer doesn't get traded, but then never gets to play.

The Yankees got a ROY and a third place finisher and didn't wanna play either of em. If Soto stays, all they really need in the short term is a 2B or 3B, especially if Murakami is an option for 2026. The bullpen needs to be remade, but that's the one place where the fanbase is comfortable letting whoever get a shot.
