Im convinced nobody watches Nuggets games @Gil Scott-Heroin
No one is saying he isn’t great. They’re taking issue with record and standing suddenly being thrown out the window. And don’t give me that argument about only winning a few less games than Embiid and Giannis when they clearly play in a superior conference.

I said this before, you’re talking to people who came of age when Nash and Dirk won 3 straight MVPs over Kobe and LeBron over record. LMAO @Gil Scott-Heroin writing all that bullshyt and saying every season is different. Nah, Westbrook and a Jokic are outliers over the last 20 years.

Jokic is damn near one of the best offensive centers in NBA history and nikkas saying he don’t deserve it :gucci:
We’ve had top 25 all time players put up all time great seasons at their positions and still get snubbed because the seeding of their teams didn’t fit the criteria for MVP. See 2009 Wade.

And here comes the passive condescension. Why even post reply to my post if you're not even gonna respond to what I asked directly? You could've just ignored it big bruh
for me, its not worth having a conversation that attempts to qualify Jokic's play as 'hero ball' and criticize him for not adhering to 'team play'

gxkIm9K.png

so what is this showing? it shows that Jokic leads the league in touches per game

now look at the time of possession, avg seconds per touch & avg dribble per touch relative to the other leaders in touches per game

Jokic is getting the ball and is immediately making decisions with the ball (whether passing/scoring) at INSANE efficiency from the Center position

to qualify his play style as 'HERO BALL' doesnt need anymore discussion tells me you either dont watch the Nuggets play, or you aren't comprehending what hes doing on the court

I was specifically responding to a post criticizing Jokic's game as 'hero ball'

:mjlol: at thinking this is some type of injustice.

I have absolutely no issue with Jokic winning and no one should because they can’t come up with a coherent argument as to why he shouldn’t.
80% time the mvp has always been the best player on the best team

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
What bothers me the most is its not even close. All I've heard is this is one of the tightest MVP races ever and any of Giannis, Embiid or Jokic can deserve to win it.

Yet, in the final analysis Jokic wins by a landslide. :mjpls::sas2:
So the theory is that the voters either conspired to give Jokic a landslide victory or they failed to conspire to make the vote closer? :patrice:

How didnt Wade fit the criteria that year? He finished 3rd

Bron outpaced the league in every advanced stat like Jokic did this year and the Cavs won 66 games that season

if the Bucks or 76ers won 66 games this season, I would bet my life on Giannis or Embiid beating out Jokic for MVP with 66 wins

Jokic is good but he not winning no more MVPs after this until he win a title
Media used the same logic for Gianis so this has to be consistent

Exactly.

Multiple-time MVP but no rings is low-key a bad look:
Karl Malone
Barkley
AI
Rose
Westbrook
Harden

All only got 1 MVP award but no rings and get shyt for it all the time.

If Jokic has two MVP's but no championships?

That's Steve Nash all over again. Except they actually gave the award to Jokic for the same reason they avoided giving one to Kobe. Not a good look. :mjpls:

Something to think about is that dude don't got much time left because the talent pools coming up look like generational talents and I'm thinking unlike Giannis, he needs to leave Denver to get it done.

You seen who he has to play with? It's a cotdamn miracle he gets them into a playoff position in the first place.

How many players in the NBA could win 50 games with:

Aaron Gordon
Monte Morris
Will Barton
Jeff Green
Austin Rivers
JaMychal Green
Bones Hyland
Facundo Campazzo.

you’re talking like they’re the Magic or old Bobcats.

just because a player isn’t well known means they trash. Memphis has a team full of nobodies as well and they’re in 2nd place

With Murray and Porter out, Embiid’s supporting cast was much better than Jokic’s. Maxey, the ghost of Tobias, fat Harden and half a year of Curry are all better than anyone Jokic played with

Aight I see that. Jokic isn’t playing hero ball. Dude is having an all time great season and most people in here aren’t even arguing that he isn’t intuitively who they would vote for as MVP.

But you literally had players acknowledging it as a team award by the late 2000s. People won’t just forget that.
