I do remember people calling Pac "crazy" back in the day there maybe some truth to this.

He didn't ATTEMPT shyt cuz..
Writing about suicide don't mean you have mental health issues. Is this that hard to understand?
The more you post the more I think you're not black so I'm bout to stop.. You're wasting my time.
He wasn't suicidal...
Angry, paranoid even, is more like it.
Don't understand what pac did to y'all for him to be so hated on here
Where is the hate here?
Brad Jordan will like to have a word with uI am older now and take mental health issues in our community seriously. I don't dismiss it. However, as a kid listening to Tupac I use to think his later lyrics depicting suicidal and mental health problems were "art" or "deep" or "gangster."
Now I'm lost and I'm weary, so many tears
I'm suicidal, so don't stand near me
My every move is a calculated step, to bring me closer
to embrace an early death, now there's nothin left
There was no mercy on the streets, I couldn't rest
I'm barely standin, bout to go to pieces, screamin peace
All his lyrics and antics make sense now. He was no martyr or Nostradmus about his own demise. It's more likely that that's what he was seeking all along. He was just too coward/guilty to actually kill himself.

He pondered it but I don't remember anything about him holding it up to his headIt's been recorded that Pac once held a gun to himself or close to himself as his mother or some other family member walked in and he had written a 'suicide' note. The note's in either the Legacy or the Resurrection book.
Thugz Mansion line seems to have been fairly autobiographical.
Your “he never held a gun to his head” statement is pedantic. He pondered it but I don't remember anything about him holding it up to his head
Wanting to commit suicide doesn't automatically make you mentally ill tho.. Mental illness is a disease and not everyone's gotta think this world is a living Paradise
The community does have problems that need to be addressed but there are many other examples to use that work better than him
I agree with most of what you said but let’s not dismiss people who are suicidal as bozos. What makes people identify with Pac to this day was that he really captured the soul of the struggle. Thug Life had nothing to do with being gangsta or intimidating people. It was about the consequences of being trapped in a lifestyle designed to destroy our people. The lyrics were supposed to be depressing and suicidal. Anyone who has been in the streets instead of just mouthing off on a forum knows that you think about death and part of you hopes for it every single day. That life is stressful and not really much of a life at all.
Tupac the man as opposed to the rapper, I don't think was suicidal. He was wilding for sure, but I think some of that was a young dude adjusting to having money/trying to work out the baggage he took from his past. I don't know how I would have handled things myself if I came into money and celebrity like that coming from where I came from, so I can kind of relate. He doesn't strike me as some sort of suicidal bozo.
Da fukYour “he never held a gun to his head” statement is pedantic.
Idk about all that.
I just think he became paranoid because of the weed he started smoking regularly as well as all the issues
he happened to have with some serious street dudes. Also, all the media frenzie and controversy especially
being that hes a Shakur.
But i mostly just think it was the weed as well as the crowd he hung around and/or had issues with.
Pac was afflicted before he even hit the streets my nikka, most of us are.
True he would but just cause psychiatrists diagnose you with something doesn't mean it's always trueBeing black in America is enough to get you some form of PTSD, let alone growing up having direct experience with the panthers, an organization that has been terrorized by the government. You add that to his experiences as he came into his own, being homeless, fatherless, getting shot, threats on his life, the pressure of being looked at as a leader, fame, money and some very interesting, tumultuous relationships, one with Jada that I have an entirely new perspective on.
He'd be diagnosed with all kinds of shyt in this day and age, doesn't mean it's an excuse but it puts his behavior in proper context, the good and the bad. Which is another beautiful thing about the theater of everything that went down because when you take a step back, undiagnosed mental health in the black community is a real issue. We got to witness a live action Shakespearean tragedy.
