He was fukking her and D was in jail for years. She would've always been a late night creep whether or not D was alive, so killing him for that reason would've been pointless
That relationship wasn't that deep.
If D wasn't an unreliable junkie with a proven tendency to fold under pressure, he would've never been touched.

Ghost is a major distributor for NY. He supplied people like String. Ghost is like the Greeks if he was on the wire. If String was on Power he's be Ruiz or someone like Drifty. Not to mention Ghost gets his hand dirty and is a much better business man. Sure he has had some hiccups but he learned from it and got smarter. Stern got the best of him but then Ghost ended him without killing him. String wanted to kill a Senator. Again on the scale of things this is no comparison.
Gotta rewatch, if true that just means String was even more of a snake nikka who probably made sure he was locked up/pulled over with the weight

For all of Ghost's weaknesses he has managed to come this close to achieving the UnAmerican Dream, working his way from the slums to the penthouse and building an empire and he'll put in work at any level.
Ghost because in Power he is damn near untouchable when its all said in done. In the end he always has plan and it it works out eventually
That said Ghost has been slacking lately and obviously can't finish anyone see(kanaan, and most likely jefe).
But ghost is a pretty unrealistic character tbh. Always two and three steps ahead of everybody. So stringer really can't compete.
