As I stated earlier in the thread, I've been really disappointed in most of these highly praised "horror" films in recent years, but this one clicked for me. Really, really well done and about perfect pacing.

I thought it gave a grim, realistic look at what survival in that situation would be like and gave a perspective from every age and angle. I didn't need it spelled out to me what happened to the world and how/why the families were in that house and that time. All that mattered is both families WERE there and the inevitable tension between them hanging in the air at all times until a boiling point.

I just watched this. I really enjoyed it, actors did a good job and I love that not everything is explained. Director definitely didn't want to hand hold the audience. The grim reality that the characters have to live in is portrayed very well.

I could definitely see people not liking this expecting it to be a main stream horror flick tho :russ:. I went in pretty much blind with no expectations. I don't think most people would even put this under the horror category.

edit: The tone of the movie never ever falters, felt tense throughout.

fukk this movie. It could of been really interesting but first of all let me just say...not a damn thing came at night.

I have to edit this to make more sense of everything:
Things it got right:
-the acting was top notch
-camera work was good

My problems with the movie:
-Marketed as horror
-How does the title have anything to do with the movie
-There was no pay off to any scene (I expected for something to happen in every tense scene, and absolutely nothing happened other than some people getting shot)
-What was the dog barking at?
-Who killed the dog?
-The cac dad had the key to the door, so how did the lil boy open it?
-The dreams were annoying (are they trying to say travis was sleepwalking?)

There's more, but thats all I can think of right now.

just finished this. I agree with everything you said. Movie was ass and the black kid was a punk.

nothing really happened this whole movie. I knew it wasn’t a horror when they still weren’t explaining shyt 45 minutes into the movie.

They should made the black dude a kid. Not a grown ass man (unless he was slow). Other than that. Loved it

Facts. Whole time I’m wondering why Travis isn’t the #2 protector to his dad. Why is his mom out there putting in work? Dude is big enough to be a threat instead he’s cowering in the room during crucial moments.
