Anybody got a full Windows Server 2019 iso?
How come I'll be doing Boson sims and the solution has me assign an interface a class B network with a subnet mask of like 255.255.255.0?
Shouldn't it be 255.255.0.0 instead?
Naw, you gotta hit that book hard. It's gonna take a while to get subnetting down and classful and classless IP addresses.
How much was that boson btw?

What you day your day to day is.
Honestly, its a lot...but it depends on what you want a security role can be IPS/IDS, Firewall, Endpoint Security, Data Privacy, Cloud Security, Risk Management, Auditing etc. etc.
The bolded could also be its own DevSecOps, You really have to look into it.
but really, learn linux, learn automation and learn Cloud would be my advise right now. That's what hot now.
Starting point could be anywhere, some start answering calls, some start out as senior level. It depends on who is internviewing and how much they believe in you.
I'll offer some input as far as scripting from powershell perspective. I felt the same exact way as you. What I did was read a book and go through different exercises to learn the basics. Once I had that down I started looking at different tasks that I could script (change a password, restart services, etc). So just like most thing, you get better at it by doing it.Thanks for input bro. I have IT experience but I'm too much of generalist. Prob because I been doing support (deskside and phones). For a while now.
I thought about pursuing linux.
I know the basics of Linux. file hierchy, basic commands and how to use man. I can read a basic bash scripts and understand it, but when It comes to creating my own, I blank out. It's like my brain can't put a stupid ass script together.
Are you able to write scripts?
How did you feel when you first started?
