Not really a smut. They've had as much sex as Lawrence and is he a smut? Men have this antiquated idea that women just don't enjoy sex, that they have sex for reasons different than men, etc when they're humans just like dudes. A lot of the show's emotional weight stems from the fact that a lot of emotional/relationship problems are rooted in the same insecurities, men and women, that manifest differently in different people.

Chicks like to fukk and have sex drives just like men. If the genders were switched in this show, nikkas would barely bat an eye at a Male Issa's body count :mjlol:

The drunk fat chick's flirting and nasty talk is tame compared to most regular dudes I know. I was at work with a cat today and we described a chick by saying she looks like type to beg for it in the ass :mjlol:

Most attractive people, men or women, in the 23-28 ages like having sex and have high sex drives. :yeshrug:

I've been single and I'm married bruh.

I'll let you in on a lil secret. I know women like to have sex.

You're still missing the point I'm making.

And yea, Lawrence is just as much of a hoe as they are.

I've been watching and I'm caught up on all the episodes.

The problem I have, and I know it's supposed to be comedy and somewhat satire, but why do all of the black females in the show have to be smuts? (Multiple casual sex partners)

The only chick that appears to not have hoe tendencies is the "married" Hispanic chic.

Even the fat black girl is a drunk smut.

It just seems to push the narrative of what most people assume about black women.

:manny:

Whoo boy.
You have another thing coming if you think the average woman ain't out there fukkin :whew:

What point are you trying to make? Because some sistas have multiple casual sex partners (like Lawrence, like Dro[ol open-marriage ass nikka] , like issa's neighbor, etc) they are promoting some single motherhood stereotypes? :hhh:

You reachin bruh. These are all typical young black professionals, all with degrees, decent jobs, yet are a mess socially/emotionally when it comes to dating/relationships. Nothing out of the norm.

You really think brehs/brehettes are out here not fukkin til marriage? :mjlol:

That "Whoo boy" with the Obama smiley to express how in the dark breh is and how much women are getting dikked down got me :russ: right now

:mjlol: :mjlol: :mjlol:

Who said I was in the dark homie, when I was single I was getting in major butt cheeks on the daily. I left that lifestyle and pursued a righteous one.

As I said before you clowns still down seem to get it. But now I'm starting to realize why a lot of my fellow black folks just don't get it when someone is trying to spit knowledge.

Ya'll sound like those clown kids the black motivational speaker had to put on blast because you won't take time to soak in knowledge cause you're to concern with boasting and perpetuating naggatry.

But I digress!

I thought dude's turn of phrase and use of smiley was funny, friend. That's all. I haven't read your posts in this thread to even know why brehs are coming at you. You're directing energy and back story at me that has nothing to do with me.

I don't know a single person who pushes the narrative that black women are "smuts".
If anything, it's the opposite.

White women, on the other hand are considered more sexually active and uninhibited.
It was even used as a plot device in the last episode.

Our fellow black musicians call black women out all the time bruh...

Interchange the word smut for whore or promiscuous

That's on them.
I don't take what they have to say as gospel - they're entertainers, not the voice of the black community.

I also think they call *every* race of woman out their name, so it's inclusive labeling

That's true but when you have young people watching BET all day and kids idolizing rappers and the trap lifestyle it has an negative affect.

For example the popularization of females calling their girlfriend bytch.

Ask your mother or grandmother if they would refer to their friends with that term as if it is some type of term of endearment :usure:

You’re doing a new project, Him or Her, which is about sexual fluidity. Back in Season 1 of Insecure you had a storyline about that topic. Is that what brought you to this?

Travon Free—the writer, the creator of the project—approached us with it. And he said that episode of Insecure was a first time that he had felt like his story was being told in a way. And that conversation reflected so much of his personal experience. I think it was something that he’d been working on for a while, but I think that episode was just, “Oh, I’ve got to get this story out there.” And so it coincided with, we were looking for fresh voices, and he pitched that and it really excited me, because I’ve just never seen anything on TV like that. I’m just rooting for his show and he’s still working on it. It’s still very early.

There was some negativity online about it not being a welcome representation of black men. Did that feel painful?

I remember just being pissed all day. Sometimes you live in a bubble, you live in a liberal bubble where you think that everyone is open, and in my eyes progressive in a way where there are so many human experiences, black experiences, gender experiences. There are so many stories to tell. The fear that a story like that would be told when it’s the story of so many other people is just absolutely ridiculous. The censorship and the idea that black men can’t be all things and still be black men is just absurd, it is.

Telling all types of stories, straight, gay, trans, whatever it is. It’s not an experience that I have. But, I want to see all kinds of stories. We’re just scratching the surface, and there’s plenty of voices beyond me that are going to do that anyway.
