As someone from the UK I find it fascinating to hear even if small, support or sympathy for Israel from non white people in the US. Here in UK, unless you’re some wannabe white person, no one here has any significant sympathy for Israel and is purely on the side of the Palestinians

The situation is of course complex and Hamas don’t make the situation better for their own people or Israeli’s and do some foul shyt. But in terms of Israel I don’t understand how people can support a nation that has colonial roots, has continued to illegally Occupy Palestinian land, has created a system of apartheid ( as per HRW’s report and they don’t use the term apartheid lightly), clear attempts at ethnic cleansing by pushing people out of specific areas, the strangling of Gaza. How can you not be on the side of the Palestinians?

The conflict right now is a separate matter as to me Hamas don’t make the situation any better for their own people so fukk em, but the broader situation in Israel/ Palestine is scandalous.

Israel continue to portray themselves as the ones who meet Western notions of democracy, respect for borders and they have zero interest right now in a 2 state solution

oh and in terms of war. Nobody in the Middle East wants beef with Israel. They’d all get smoked out. Even Iran ain’t really about that. They’ll support Hamas and Hizbollah but they know they don’t have the capabilities to hang with Israel is a real war
