why is Boko haram callad kanuri jihad then?

The Strategic Limitations of Boko Haram in Southern Nigeria | Combating Terrorism Center at West Point

This came less than four months after Abu Qaqa, a Boko Haram spokesman and Shura Council member, was captured in January 2012. Abu Qaqa revealed that ethnic Kanuris, who are the majority ethnic group only in Borno State, have been selling out members of other ethnicities, including Abu Qaqa, an ethnic Ebira from Kogi State. Among the reasons why northern elites, who are mostly Hausas and Fulanis, have rejected Boko Haram is that they perceive Kanuris as the dominant ethnic group within Boko Haram.

if that's true why do statics show that boko haram killed more muslims?, nigeria is not an exception all so-called islamic terrorisms primary targets are other muslims.

Christianity Today Gleanings: Oil Militants Threaten Terror Campaign To Defend Nigerian Christians
Additionally, Boko Haram, which has killed more Muslims than Christians over the past few years, has used Christian attacks on Muslims to justify its attacks on Christians.

Boko Haram has killed more Muslims

“If it is true that we are in sympathy with the sect, how come the statistics on the ground shows that more Muslims have been killed in the attacks by the sect than the Christians?”

The lawmaker added, “What we as senators from the North should do at this retreat is to make our southern counterparts know that the Boko Haram has a different belief from other muslims. What they preach and do is beyond our understanding and conclusion. This sect is more dangerous than any security agencies by going after those who talk against them.”

The Ether....:ooh:

Boko Haram is mainly Hausas other Jihadist of other tribes join the fold. Its no different than Al-Qaeda which is made up of different ethic groups. One thing you need to understand is that everybody in Nigeria considers all Muslims from northern Nigeria as "Hausas". Fulanis are generally seen as Muslim cattle herders even if they are not Fulani because that is what they are known for. Abacha who was a brutal dictator in Nigeria was Kanuri but many Nigerians apply the loose term to him as being "Hausa" because he was a Muslim from the north. Ask Nigerians what tribe Abacha belonged to, the vast majority will say Hausa or Fulani. I guarantee you that I am right on that assessment. Its like how many people who are uneducated about a people would refer a El Salvadorian as Mexican because Mexicans are the predominant ethnicity and people don't care to differentiate. Notice that I never said that Kanuris are under attack by Boko Haram. The government will not different in Borno from innocent people and Boko Haram...they will kill whoever and ask questions later...this is causing the people to flee. Many Kanuris in fact speak Hausa which makes differentiating them even tougher for many outsiders in Nigeria and abroad.

The Ether....:ooh:

:childplease: There is no ether...calm down. Many Muslms that are killed are people that are government agents who are mostly Muslim. Policemen, soldiers, etc are dominated by northerners. When it comes to civilian casualties the overwhelming majority are Christians. Every Sunday for almost 6 months bombing attacks was made by Boko Haram at churches all through the north. From Kaduna, Jos, Abuja, etc. I lost an uncle and a cousin (his son) to one of these bombings. In Kano (Sabon Ghari) dozens of Christians were killed in a bombing about two months ago.

If you watch Boko Haram videos, they speak Hausa. I know this, many of you don't. I can tell you that Fulani herdsman have killed as many if not more people than Boko Haram. They operate with impunity, killing as they please. Fulanis are Emirs in Nigeria, including the Sokoto Caliphate. They have influence with Hausas. The reason why some of the northern elite is coping pleas is because Boko Haram is hurting their money as exerting control over certain parts of the north. Don't think for one second that they care about innocent people that are killed especially Christians. They care about control for the sake of their own bellies.

Sadly the same groups doing the Islamists thing are all connected to the same organization funding them....which is located in Saudi Arabia. Haram come into existence on 2001.....:rudy: too obvious.

sorry to hear that :rip::salute:

i disagree most of boko haram victims are civilians due to BH setting bombs in cities. they attack schools, mosques, newspaper offices, assassinate clerics, dress as police or military and kill civillians etc. terrorists are demonics

but anyway i rest my case

Thanks breh. The future is very dark. The 2015 presidential election might be the beginning of the end of Nigeria. The corruption and poverty is too much. The Nigerian project created by England is not working. Nothing good is coming out of it for the average person. It time that "Nigerians" start think about going their separate ways.
