Sadly this makes no sense. Arab Islam War against the West( minus Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Yemen, Bahrain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Oman, UAE) who's government have U.S. in full support. I assumed they targeted the Christians whenever there was a conflict. Don't follow this closely. Follow detroit first, then america, then place in africa where my people are from, then places that has US troops, then other places... so that's the reason.

I align myself with my fam and God, then my people, then Islam. I know about Islam.. most if not all that has been discussed in HL about Islam- is not representative of the majority of Muslims, Islamic practices, or being Muslim.

Boko Haram is predominantly made of Hausa muslims. Not all member of Boko Haram are from Nigeria, many of them are from Niger and Chad, where Hausas also live. They recruit what is known in Nigeria as aljimiris , who are boys and young men who don't go to regular schools, but are indoctrinated in the Koran only from childhood. Hence the meaning of Boko Haram in Hausa, western education is sin/sacrilege. Some of the farmers are Christian, some of them are Muslim. The area that is in question is made mainly of Kanuri Muslims and other small tribes. Make no mistake that Boko Haram wants to mainly kill predominantly Christian tribes in the north and against the Nigerian Federal government whose current president is a Christian from the Niger Delta.

Boko Haram is also a political used by northern political elite for intimidation and political/financial gain. These farmers were driven away more to the fighting going on in the area. Fulanis who are also in the north has a lot of influence in the north and very rarely subject to attack by Hausas or even Boko Haram.
