Im not sure thats a politically tenable outcome for Obama. While there might be some covert ground operations done by US special forces, if it has gotten to this point, we might have to work through Iran and let them handle the situation on the ground. Increased cooperation with Iran might be an upside to this awful situation, though.

I have a feeling the Muslim world wouldn't be pleased about America turning Shia death squads loose in Syria and Iraq... The Sunnis are actually being persecuted in Syria and Iraq after all. America can't win. They're not supposed to.

If Iran officially send troops to Iraq you'll probably start seeing explosions all over Tehran. Them ayatollas don't want them issues on home turf, they'd rather have the damage done in neighbouring Iraq.
The problem is going to be on their border if the US approach from the air is ineffective, though. If the Iraqi army is completely incapable of handling the situation given the support they are receiving, someone is going to have to step in to play a more active role regardless. Difficult situation for both the US and Iran to deal with....

But if the West co-signs the Iranian counter-offensive to IS, what stops them from claiming northern Iraqi and Syrian lands after the dust settles?:dwillhuh::lupe:

For one Jews would be mighty pissed if its biggest regional threat closed in on Israeli territory, the Iranian attacks would be imminent.

There are so many levels of complication to this :wow:

Say what you want about Saddam but it took someone like him to contain all the religious and ethnic violence.

Same thing is happening in Libya right now.

And same thing would happen if Assad is overthrown

Some countries need the iron fist ruler

I Blame the U.S. Iraq was better off when Sadam was in power. everytime the US invades a country they always fukk it up more than it already was. And this time their dumb asses forgot to bring their weapons back with them now ISIS has em

You see what the guy said at 8:35 Part 4 when they bulldoze the Syria/Iraq border?

''No to borders, and no Sykes-Picot Agreement''

Most people in the West would have no idea what they're talking about but these seemingly uneducated barbarians are making reference to events that occurred nearly 100 years ago. I'm sure there are people watching this in France and England like ''fukk they blaming us for :dahell:''

People across the globe are haunted by the ghosts of colonialism. You might have forgotten about it but they have not.

And as long as I stay black, I gotta stay strapped
And I never get to lay back
Cause I always got to worry 'bout the payback
Some buck that I roughed up way back
Coming back after all these years
"Rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat!"That's the way it is
