I feel like this is a good reminder that no matter who you are your take on the GOAT will have same sort of bias so its really just important to appreciate the skill set of each all-time great player we get to watch. Bron, Jordan, KD, Kobe, Wilt, etc will eat in any era under any set of rules because they're top 1% to ever play the game. fukk a GOAT, just appreciate greatness in all its forms

This is why Kareem was right when he said there is no GOAT.
There are several, and we should just appreciate all greatness.

Kareem wrote this about Lebron, but it applies to the question no matter who the subject is. Whether it's Jordan or anyone:

Finally, the GOAT question, which runs through the media like a nasty STD: "Who is the Greatest of All Time?" A month ago, LeBron claimed the title for himself during an ESPN interview, saying he deserves the title because he gave Cleveland its first championship in decades after an improbable comeback from being behind by three games to one. "That one right there made me the greatest player of all time," he proclaimed.

It's a little disappointing hearing him play this imaginary game, which is akin to asking, Which superpower is better, flying or invisibility? I get asked this question a couple times a week, and my answer is always the same: The game has changed so much over the years that there is no leveling rubric to take into account the variables. So, sorry, LeBron, you're not the GOAT because it's a mythological beast. It's like asking, How big is the horn on a unicorn?

Above the fray.
Not just Jordan's athleticism that lead to him being a dominant scorer AND a six time champion. It was his mental toughness, competitiveness, leadership, and sheer will.
There were guys who lead the league in scoring who never won rings. You could say they dominated the league. Look at some of the scoring averages of elite scorers in history.

MJ got a good coach, made his teammates into winners, and figured out how to win and the Bulls won the ring EVERY year he played a full season after that.

Athleticism? baby please. How many rings did Dominique Wilkins win?

LMAO

THERE ARENT 10-11 GUYS WITH MJS ATHLETICISM.

YOUNG D-ROSE WAS THE CLOSEST ONE
WEVE SEEN.

I say dwade is the closest, had a similar hangtime to jordan and ability to freak the layup, but rose similar as well. Young D-rose tho in my opinion is much more athletic than jordan or wade was. nikka was 6'3 with his head above the rim. Jordan and wade obviously did more with it but that another topic...

And Kareem has arguably the GOAT resume :wow:

MJ was a legit 6'6 with a 6'11 wingspan, 42+ inch vert, and ran a 4.3 40. Point me to a single guard today with similar let alone better measurements all in one... you can't. Casuals talking about how "aThLeTeS hAvE eVoLvEd" and "JoRdAn PlAyEd Vs. PlUmBeRs aNd mAiLmEn" gotta provide receipts for that claim and 20 years into the 21st century they still have yet to do so... :coffee:

Durant would be ok. Lebron would be ok, but the game being more physical back then would have taken Lebron out of his game. Every time he goes to the hole he's getting beat up. And considering Lebron whines to the refs about the most basic things, the 80's physical nature would have taken him out his game mentally.
