Isaiah Hartenstein just got $30 million a year from the Thunder. Timofey Mozgov Vibes.

If JWill or Chet don't evolve into reliable second options, I can see them bowing out before the finals again
I do like their roster construction though and I feel like you always need to go all in every year you have a top 5-10 player (which they do)
I don't think Chet will ever be the second option on offense. They need him to be an anchor defensively/shot blocker/rebounder... being a top option on offense as well is asking a whole lot. I think JDub has to be the guy to take that leap(or trade for Markkanen).

I do think OKC does need one more big, not super expensive or prominent but to give them the flexibility to play iHart + Chet together without fear of (once again) having a severely undersized 2nd unit.

They could not free up money to re-sign Hartenstein. They didn't have his Bird rights, they could only offer him their max of 4/72.5(which they did offer him). If they could've offered him OKCs deal I have no doubt they would have.

thanks for the info unfortunately, I don’t follow the new CBA like I used to
But I definitely remember back in the days the easiest way to resign a current player was to rid another current player salary

With that said, I got to agree with @BigMoneyGrip - I just don’t think Chet & Hartenstein aka brightskin can play together which makes that signing ridiculous for OKC

I actually think Caruso helps them off the bench. I'd run with SGA/Dort/JDub/Chet/IHart with Caruso the 6th man, Joe, Wiggins, Wallace

It's a really good team

Would be particularly beneficial if Caruso could handle the back up pg duties when sga is out.

Dort or AC may end up situational. Both great defensively but Dort can get a bit wild with the shot confidence whereas iirc some Bulls [edit] fans* said AC can at times be gun shy.

The main problem the Thunder lost is because the only set positions they have is the SG (Shai) and Center (Chet). Every other position needs a huge upgrade. When things got rough in the final minutes, the lack of talent or defined roles in the 1, 3, and 4 positions was glaring

- Jalen Williams needs to be the starting full time point guard if this team is serious. Alot of times he's "positionless" and it ruins his effectiveness
- Giddy needs to be a trade piece
- Dort is a 6th man

Called it back in the 2nd round of the playoffs when OKC faced the Mavericks lol

Contract is fine. Light skin had a solid year. Money may be high but it’s 3 years. Dallas exposed the shyt outta OKC in the playoffs. They need more size
