Lakers: Shaq
Heat: Lebron, Bosh
Magic: T-mac, Grant Hill

Sure some of those signings happened years ago, and Hill and T-Mac had shyt luck health wise. But the point I'm making is, the Celtics have never been a prime free agent location. We might as well be Utah, or Milwaukee, so we have to overspend. We have to trade and draft well to be successful. If we build a good core then maybe we can attract top free agents.
Monroe chose Milwaukee over New York

Best case sees us picking first and the Lakers losing their pick to the 76ers.

Lakers picking first and us dropping down to fourth is what will happen though. :mjcry:

:mjlol: Like 97 all over again. I was so sure we were getting Duncan and Van Horn(at the time he was highly coveted). We end up with Billups and Mercer, and dumbfukk Pitino trades Chauncey for Anderson. Could of had T-mac but Pitino drafts Mercer instead.:hhh:

At least when we lost out on Oden and Durant Danny flipped the pick into Ray which let KG ok a trade to go to Boston.

I remember a fan made a video that tells the story of those drafts and the leadup to the 08 season.

fukk a 30 for 30. If you got 30 minutes I recommend all Celtics brehs watch these vids :banderas:

I'll be shocked if Ainge trades it. At least on draft night. If he covets Hayward as much as people think, he'll need to preserve as much cap space as he can to offer him the max

That said, I really love this draft. To the point where I think even Ainge can't fukk it up. I'd agree that there isn't one prospect you can point to and say with 95% confidence that he'll be a star in the league like you could with Duncan or LeBron or KD or Anthony Davis. But still, I think this is gonna be a really deep draft that produces multiple stars

Was advocating for Brad to sit the starters for the last two games because I thought we had nothing left to play for, but the Cavs made it interesting again

Can't believe Cleveland blew that 26-point lead. :gucci:

I suppose we're now tied for first in the East but Toronto's gonna toss their season finale against Cleveland to face us in the 2nd round. :yeshrug:

Jaylen Brown’s rookie campaign has certainly been different than those of his fellow 2016 lottery picks. The No. 3 overall selection of California, Brown is less than a week away from his first playoff run, something no top-five selection has done as a rookie since 2012. A little over a year removed from his final college game, Brown isn’t planning on simply making an appearance in the playoffs—he’s now primed to be a key piece of the Celtics’ postseason rotation.

Last year at this time Brown was in Berkeley. Hawaii bounced Cal in the first round of the NCAA tournament, ending Brown’s college career after just 34 games. He declared for the draft on April 21, and nearly a year later Brown has evolved from a 19-year-old freshman to averaging 17 minutes per game for a Celtics team with championship aspirations.

'Whatever is needed': Brown giving Celtics a boost

I'm really high on Jaylen. Not gonna lie, I thought the Cs reached for him when they took him as the #3 pick last summer but he's made as smooth of a transition as you can expect, given the circumstances. He's undoubtedly helped us win 50 games for the first time since 2011, especially when he started in place of Avery in the middle of the season.

Um theyre gonna toss the game cuz theyre locked into 3rd win or lose so why risk playing anyone...Raps can predict Cavs losing back to back against Atlanta and resting there starters against MIA :francis:

Casey made a good point post game yesterday saying they'd rather play CLE earlier than later in the playoffs the way theyre struggling right now, they'll eventually get into rhythym by the time the ECF rolls around, get em early before they can turn it around...

He's really improved. He's a smart kid so you know he's just absorbing all the knowledge at practice etc. Once his shooting gets a little more dependable and he gets acclimated to the speed of the game, i think he's gonna be a star.

I really thought Toronto would've put up more of a fight for 2nd honestly, especially after acquiring Ibaka and them. I get that Lowry was out with an injury but I thought Ibaka was gonna jump-start a furious rally to the top 2 in the East nonethless. He and Derozan are still a formidable core.
