I'm not so sure he won't make the roster though. He's a big body that can shoot, granted, he doesn't serve much utility otherwise.

And Bentil should've signed with the Claws.

He's not going to make the roster under any circumstances. It's purely to get his D-League rights.

He's a poor man's Olynyk at best

I guess it's Young over RJ. I'm still scratching my head wondering why we guaranteed a contract for the 45th pick in the draft rookie over a first rounder?:patrice: Hopefully Demetrious was worth it. Young had his youth to excuse his play the past two years. Dude is still the 2nd youngest player on the team. I remember Jae criticizing his work ethic when he was a rookie. Maybe Young humbled himself and showed his commitment to improve this past summer.

Man I can't find the story. I remember someone posting it on Celticsblog when Young was a rookie. Basically it made Young seem like an entitled brat. Young is one of those kids who was highly recruited and prolly had his ass kissed by aau and college coaches. I remember his rookie year he kinda sulked when not getting playing time. But he needed to realize that damn near every NBA player was highly recruited and the alpha dog in hs/college. That's why Danny hit him with that subtle ether you just posted about it's his "first time earning something."

"[Brook] Lopez, 28, has two years remaining on a contract that will pay him $21.2 million this season. He is still young enough that Brooklyn could decide he is the player they would like to build around. But he is also old enough that seeking to trade him for a collection of draft picks and young players could make sense, too, because the Nets are much more than one move away from becoming a good team, particularly with the Celtics owning their picks.

And therein lies the conundrum for the Nets: They are not in a position to make a deal for a difference-maker because their looming assets that would be most valuable are blocked by Boston, and they are not able to rebuild through the draft because the Celtics are clogging that pipeline, too."

YOOOOOOO that's fukked up that RJ Hunter got cut on his birthday. :ohhh::francis:

"The Celtics have waived second-year guard R.J. Hunter, Hunter’s father Ron said in a telephone interview on Monday.

“He’s disappointed,” Ron Hunter said. “For a kid to get waived on his birthday isn’t the best way to celebrate your birthday. But he understands this is a business and there will be another opportunity for him.""

Happy 23rd Birthday, RJ :mjcry:
