An animated apocalypse saga would be . The opening scene from the X-men Apocalypse movie was one of the only dope things about it (and the end credits scene from the previous one, despite it looking low budget)

Losing a good woman like Jean

The mutant struggle being similar to the civil rights movement and disabled people's struggle.

They try to push this feminism nowadays but it seems forced (think j law in the newer x men movies or captain marvel), whereas every female character in there was a boss bish and it felt natural. You could argue storm, Jean and rogue were the top 3.

Cyclops was a boss in this.

Cyclops IS the driving force of the X-Men not Wolverine. He's the one constant and without him the X-Men fall apart.

Paul Smith is slept on which is odd because he was the artist on the X-Men comic for some of the most major moments in the history of the characters (Rogue joining, Storm getting the mohawk, The Marauders etc.)

I thought Romita Jr drew the first appearances with the Marauders... Romita jr’s style was also dope.

...and Paul Smith was crazy slept on given his impact. If only he could have drawn just another 10 to 15 more issues
