Obviously he wasn't your traditional outside WR and deep threat, but he's a two time first-team all-pro and a two time second-team all-pro.

I know there are a lot of Patriots fans that like Edelman more and diminish what Welker did here, with a lot being because of an off target throw in a Super Bowl, but I respect what Welker did here in New England.
He's not, which is why it was so absolutely ridiculous when people tried to prop up Edelman as a possible HoFer. If Welker isn't, how can anyone have the audacity to say a dude who is a fraction of the player could be one?

Edelman has been very good for the team, but he's not a better player than Welker, and he's had a LOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT of drops himself at big times. He just didn't have that major one in the Super Bowl (was not an accurate throw).

No. He had a good run though and if he stayed with the Pats I think he would put up better stats to make a case. But if you’re under 10,000 yards as a receiver you had to have been so dominant in a short span (like 5 1,800 yard seasons and a career ending injury or something) to get there which he wasn’t. I think he has a better case than Edelman though.

Also that drop wasn’t his fault and I’ll never change my mind on that :aicmon:

i agree with everything you said
