I'd push it back to like early '03 which would include the last couple sqad tapes, the prefix, C1, the unreleased C1 sessions, Dedication 1, etc....and it's prolly one of my favorite runs by any rapper ever...up there with esco era nas for me...need to update that double disc best of wayne complilation somebody made in like '06 with versions of sqad tracks with just his verses, and mixtapes up till dedication 2...and add the best drought 3, lilweezyana, c3 sessions, and no ceilings verses to it...that's another disc at least,.prolly two

the Hot Boys didn't hit it big because of Wayne, they sold 400,000 copies of the first Hot Boys album as an underground act/label. the Hot Boys, Juvy & BG were the big hitters before Weezy even had a solo out. they had sold like 12-15 million albums before the current version of Wayne started hitting the charts

the thing is they still weren't making any real money at that point, they were climbing up the ladder but at the end of the day wayne was the main force that took cash money to stardom. since birdman threw down young money to wayne and curren$y its been history. wayne controlled the mainstream spitta controlled the underground.
