Is this the worst WWE roster since late 1997?

No depth, barely any stars, Roman part time, they're doing Roman vs Brock pt 37 as their centrepiece program, most of their best workers are now in catering at AEW, their women's division has fallen off a cliff, and Rick Steiner's son is the only young talent who looks like he might be a star. It says a lot that someone like Cody getting injured made such an impact on their booking

Post Survivor Series 1997 roster was a struggle until the attitude era got cooking but even that roster had a red hot Austin, Rock on the come up, Michaels, Taker, Owen and some others.

They have talent. They could have made Matt Riddle a star coming off the Reigns match but a few days later they book him like a fukkin bum like everybody else and he jobs out. They have a lot of dudes like that on the roster who if they had been booked better leading up to now could have been ready. Years of booking everyone besides Reigns and Lesnar with 50/50 trash booking is what leads you to this.

This is simply not true but before I address that I will never understand why yall love ignoring the women when it comes to pointing out modern stars and draws in WWE as well as future promising stars. Bianca, Becky and Alexa are bonafide stars, Liv is extremely popular, Rhea/Charlotte before the absence had huge roles and obviously Sasha before the alleged release was one of the most popular names on the roster even if she wasn't booked like it. Plus there's a whole crop of women down in NXT who show promise.

Which brings me to the men, Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams, Grayson Waller, Julius Creed(when he inevitably ditches his brother in 5 years), and Tony D whether you like his gimmick or not all have star potential. On the main roster Austin Theory is clearly being built as their next top guy and they have a plethora of guys who can easily be way bigger deals than they are if they had competent booking. Gunther while it's very early on has potential to be a huge monster heel, KO, Finn, AJ, Seth, Bobby, and Drew are all world champion caliber talents, Montez Ford could be a huge star if they let him be. Big E when he comes back from injury could be a huge deal if they book him right.

The problem isn't the roster the problem is the shytty handling of the roster. They don't allow people to be as big as they can be unless they are handpicked for that position and then when something happens to the very few individuals they circled in on the product suffers because they didn't build anybody else up to that level.

You're just listing names :deadrose:

Liv been repackaged 9 times....just cause some neckbeards thirst over her doesn't make her a star.

Finn...c'mon son, this ain't 2015, that ship been sailed :heh:

The roster is light since they have cut like 75% of the talent since the pandemic. However, there is still a lot of talent there, Vince just hasn't done shyt to build up more than like 5 wrestlers, if even that much, because he completely lacks any imagination and seemingly has zero desire to care about any secondary title.

Just look at all the ex-WWE people who went on to excel in AEW and NJPW. Two fo the most talented rosters in the world and Vince made many of these former WWE guys fukking midcard jabronis if they were even lucky enough to get that far up the card

The Roster is just 'bad' because of how bad the Product itself has been overproduced, along with management killing off ideas at the snap of a finger. When you get too hot, your buried, just like how Zack Ryder got himself over without WWE's help.

This. The talent is there, but the booking mentality is the worst it's ever been.
